This little guy (or gal) came in to work today after someone stepped on it, shredded its scales around its neck so that muscle was exposed, and then in an extremely idiotic and misguided attempt to 'help' it, WRAPPED A STICKY BAND-AIDE OVER ITS WOUNDS FOR 'SUPPORT'. THE TAPE ON THE BAND-AIDE WAS HOLDING THIS POOR THING'S JAW OPEN FOR HOURS! Not to mention we had to peel GLUE directly off of EXPOSED MUSCLE.
SERIOUSLY, WHY MUST PEOPLE BE SUCH MORONS?
*clears throat*
Anyway ... I don't know if I mentioned it here when it happened, I know I did on twitter, but Aerith, my pink rat snake that I had since she was knee-high to a pencil (read: Nearly 11 years) passed away last September. I've been missing her something fierce, and besides - who could say no to this little HELP ME face?? ;__;
I'm going to do what I can to help it out - it was so dehydrated it felt like dead leaves when I first held it. We gave it fluids and it is much more perky now, but as you can see, it can't straighten its neck out. It might be broken, but it might also just be really strained and sore from PULLING AGAINST A BAND-AIDE for God only knows how long.Only time will tell. If it can't eat all kinked up like this, it will die ... but I have lots of experience in this particular department. I so don't have time for this, but .... FAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE!! ;___;
(Also, whenever it tries to unspool, it CAN, it just then goes right back, so I'm hoping it's just really sore. Poor thing. )
