Saturday was the big day for me. I got up at 6 to shower and start with the applications of various things, such as paint and fake eyelashes. This was my first go around with face eyelashes, but I think I may always wear them from now on. They really stand out in the pictures.
Portraits of Katara are in a separate post
HERE.
Before and After fake eyelashes. I went downstairs to the continental breakfast like this. All the other people in the lobby were like x_______x. It was awesome.
The hardest part was not moving my face after the paint was dry. But eventually we were ready to go.
I lol'd at this guy. Win.
Cute older couple.
I managed to find a few other Avatar people, YAY! Here is another Katara - vintage edition. :)
She had a Zuko, but I stoled him.
Then I found another Katara with a Fire Nation edition Toph.
They had sooper kool speshul effeks.
Then I found a Mai!! And I was like 'MAAAAAAI!!!!' and she ignored me, and I said 'AWWWW, She's even in CHARACTER!' and everybody around us in Artist Alley died laughing. THEN I got her attention, and she was really sweet.
Of course it isn't Avatar without some evil - Azula!
And probably my favorite cosplay of the ENTIRE con, Guy!Toph!!! From the play!! And he screamed at me!!! :D :D :D
I also love reading all the awesome shirts.
I commissioned a chibi Cloud. I lurve him.
The Vader dude REALLY looked like Rick Moranis. LOLZ.
Ash!
World's tiniest Spiderman.
I experienced a slight wardrobe malfunction. Victoria watched my hat while I fixed it.
Always always always carry an emergency sewing kit on you. ALWAYS.
The world's tiniest and cutest lil' Princess Leia.
Me and Olivia painted tiiiiiiiiiny figurines.
Hers was very neat and pretty.
Mine was a goblin with no fashion sense.
Jessica went as Ophelia from Brutal Legend, and what do you know, first thing in the morning we found an Eddie!! *squees*
They will pwn the WORLD with the power of their ROCK.
*wails on guitar*
AWWWW. And now, I shall teach you of French Kissing.
DOUBLE TEAM.
We found a big kitty to take pictures by.
Ophelia rocks the big kitty. Mrow.
Katie kisses the kitty.
Saturday is always the anime costume contest. It was ok this year - only a few of the outfits REALLY made me squee.
But it's nice to get to sit down, for sure.
My favorite set was this pair that did Monster Hunter. So awesome! They even roasted meat on a spit! If you've played the game, then that will make sense to you. If not .... play the game.
That's what I call a boom stick.
SHHH. YOU CAN'T SEE MEEEE.
After the costume contest we headed back to the hotel for a little downtime before the rave, where I transformed from this:
Into THIS. Hell, yeah.
Slytherin to the core, baby.
Of course I didn't actually go to the rave, I went to a shadowcast performance of the star wars trilogy if it was an eighties musical, and HOMG. SO MUCH FUNNY AND AWESOME THAT IT CANNOT BE TEXTUALLY RENDERED.
Sunday I went to panels all day. They had some really fun shows and panels this year. There are also some really cool looking movies coming out. I didn't dress up, but I snapped a few pictures.
This is the best dark Sora I have ever seen, EVER. This poor (guy? girl?) person could not walk TWO INCHES without getting stopped for a photo. But hey - that's what a cosplayer lives for, am I right ?
Go Speed Racer!
This lovely woman sat with me at the Wolf Pack costuming tips panel. She goes to dragoncon every year and does the Dawn contest. She's taking this year off, but we hope to meet up again so she can see Snapdragon - she gave me lots of tips on how to do the wings. This dress is a Steampunk Morgan La Fey. So awesome. I wish I'd had my good camera - you can't see aaaaaaaaall the LACE WORK.
ZOMBIE FISHERMAN.
That pretty much wraps it up - I now have 2 facehugger hats, one of which will be going up to
lotr_lemmy 's awesome dad, who wanted me to get him one. In the meantime, they are snuggling in my bedroom. Good thing they can't reproduce without a human host or I'd be in trouble!
And I bought myself a T-shirt.
Front.
Back.
LOVE my t-shirt.
Well, another con closed. *dies* Good times. I hung Katara up on the dressform last night - I have to find a place to put her! *headdesk* I'm running out of room for all this stuff! My net update will be the Snapdragon sewing diary, exciting exciting.
That's all, folks!
