Well, I feel special. Someone actually cared enough to nudge me....CA chicks rock! Heh...
Lots has been going on over here..After a tumultuous time in the dog-eat-dog business world, I think I've finally found my niche. I have been the program director for a martial arts school slash acupuncture office for several months, now. It is so Cali I'm just beside myself. I am involved in teaching the children's kung fu programs, as well. It doesn't pay loads but I'm getting loads of training in both taiji and kung fu, and I just really enjoy the whole environment. It's sad to say, but I think soon I will speak more Chinese than Tagalog....heh
Prior to getting back into training both taiji and kung fu, I started doing the McDougall plan. I lost 12 lbs right off the bat; it was pitiful how easy the diet was for me. I'm pretty happy with where I am weightwise right now, though I could lose more, but I'm not being as strict with the diet now. But any of you veggies out there who would like to try something to lose weight should consider the plan. It works if you work it right.
My oldest dog who had basically been on her deathbed some time ago is STILL around, and lately she has been testing the injured hip/leg, like she's putting weight on it. The xrays showed that she really doesn't have the cartilege (sp?) where she needs it, so she most likely will never be able to walk on it in any true sense, but I'm just thankful that I was patient enough to not decide to end her life.
My oldest daughter is actually starting to act like a true teenager, which I hate. We just bought her a $1500 violin, and then she made the dance team aka hoochie mamas. She's so psyched about the dance team that she's neglecting practicing her violin. I've spent over $500 for her to attend symphony camp at FSU(no, I have not lost my mind; UF doesn't offer anything like it) and she has the opportunity to be in the most advanced group in the youth symphony IF SHE WOULD JUST PRACTICE.... She huffs at me and ignores me. Such joy to be the mother of girls...
My youngest is doing kung fu at my school just for the summer as she will have her gymnastics schedule to contend with in the fall. She was totally excited about it. She freaked out all the other students, and even some of the instructors, with her mad flexibility skills. One instructor even suggested I get her into wushu...that would be pretty cool...
OK. That's all I got. Thanks, Liz, for waking me up. I truly hope all is well. I'll have to do some reading to find out, eh?
