The next few steps in my life path have started to emerge.
I started in Energy, and I know that Alternative Energy is the next step I want to take.
Now I know, that after I've worked in Energy/AE, I want to work in Water.
So simple! It all started a couple months ago when Pur had an advertisement about water purification for those who had no access to clean water. Then last week, I was reading on BBC about how water was the next big scarce resource. And within a day of reading that article, Kristen was talking about water conservation and its importance in Chicago. And then it dawned on me, (clean) Water is a perfect follow up to Energy.
I had been trying to find an area to do non-profit work, and now I realize water might be the way to go.
When I say "Water" I know I suck at conserving and I'd be the worst role model. I come from the mindset that everything-is-plentiful-and-everyone-should-have-plenty. Rationing isn't in my dictionary (note: not to be confused with moderation, which IS in my dictionary). Meaning, my work would be about creating "more", rather than conserving. So that could lead to Water Purification or creating ways (and get this - creating a supply chain!!) for getting water to the right people in the right places.
So, in addition to my short term goals of GMATing and getting into AE, I now have:
-Find a non-profit or water related service activity for the summer.
Yay :)
