Fasting - Day 2

Feb 05, 2010 10:24

11am
Woke up hungry and dehydrated. Slightly irritable but not too bad. I’m drinking a special fasting tea. Mostly I feel okay. Sense of smell is very acute - I could taste the baking soda in the toothpaste in Gay’s kiss an hour after the fact. Plenty of energy, and less inclined to lie around in bed than usual (even though I’m technically lying in bed right now typing on my laptop). Weight: 127.

2pm
Girlfriend reports that I’m starting to smell funny. And I’m all like: YAY THE FUN DOESN’T START UNTIL I’M KETOIC. Then she jumps me because it turns her on when I talk nerdy.

Food is tempting but resistible. I just tell myself I can’t eat it. It’s easier if I put it in terms of hygiene. Everything smells wonderful though. And I think about food a lot.

5:30 pm
Went for a 30 minute walk at the local stadium while Sporty Spice ran laps. I had not expected to have as much energy as I do. Last time I think I spent the first three days in bed. Was completely flattened when I came home though. Lying down now.

7pm
That walk really wiped me out. I have no energy to do anything other than just lie in bed. Hungry and tea is not helping. I think I might just go to sleep.

10p
Can’t sleep. MISERABLE. My head is pounding, my joints hurt, I’m achey all over. No matter what position I choose I cannot get comfortable. And I’m ravenous.

I’ve been feeling pain the past couple of days but my RSI always flares up when I spend too much time reading or on the computer, which I have been. So I’d dismissed it as that. But this is way way more than what’s usual and it’s affecting my whole body. I can’t take any medicine for it because (a) it will irritate my stomach and (b) I’ve decided not to take ANYTHING except water and tea, which precludes medicine.

1 am
Gay tried to distract me with South Park videos for a while, but I still felt horrid. I kept changing positions on the couch, trying to get comfortable. I’d be ok for 10 minutes and then I’d start to hurt again. Plus I was just so exhausted I could barely sit up. Eventually I took one of my bone-meltingly-hot baths. This helped a lot. The pain stopped, the discomfort went away (mostly) and I fell into bed to sleep like a dead person. Who has disturbing dreams.
