Authors have been revealed.

Now, this exchange was created as an experiment. I wanted to see if it was possible to actually have a working exchange based on something like tags. As we can see, it worked fairly well. I personally found it easier to come up with fic ideas when there were no optional details with the tags.

However it was far from a perfect exchange.

Character Tags
Originally, there was not going to be any character tags at all. I decided to include them and make them just used to improve matching. That was a really dumb idea. All it did was cause more confusion and problems. If the exchange were to run again then they should really be either removed completely or used for matching. If they were used for matching it would probably need to have a minimum number of 2-3 characters per request/offer with OR based matching.

Timeline
Maybe some adjustment to the timeline should be made. Not to a radically different time of the year, but some adjustment would probably help.

Tag Definition
There was some confusion on my part on genderswap, genderbend and Rule 63. It might help next year to have a post with the nominated tags and quick definitions for people to look up.

AO3 Knows What You Want
There was also an error where if you selected one tag, submitted your signup and then went back to edit that it would helpfully select other tags as well that were related to the ones you did select. As of right now the only solution I can think of is using the field for extra tags for the ones causing issues. The catch is that you would have to then have perfect spelling and you would still need the minimum regular tag selections.

Moderating & Future
This exchange was meant to be a one and done deal. I just wanted to prove that it could be done with no plans to continue it. Some people who were in contact with me expressed interest in it continuing on. I would be open to running it again, but I have a lot more fun doing the AO3 stuff. There are several options:
1. Co-mod for next year with myself focusing more on the AO3 side of the exchange.
2. Someone else takes it over completely with myself helping out as requested.
3. Someone else takes it over and desires no assistance from me.
4. No one officially takes this one over but someone decides to run their own with the same or similar idea.
5. No more tag exchange

Comments & Criticism
I want to hear from you. Even if this exchange specifically never happens again your feedback can still help others not make the same mistakes.
