Concerns Regarding Matching
I know some people are very concerned whether matching will even be possible in this exchange. One thing I have decided to do to make matching work better is that when sign ups open I will make them visible. If everyone keeps an eye on signups and offers with the intent of making sure they match the requests of at least one person, I think this is a feasible exchange. Another thing is that I am allowing all fandoms so that people can pick their big fandoms that would hopefully have more people interested in writing more things.
I have not decided if this will be a recurring exchange or not, but most likely this is just a one and done deal. The purpose of it is entirely to see if an exchange based on things other than characters or ships is possible, workable under the right conditions or completely impossible.
In a worst case scenario, if matching is completely impossible, then yes, this exchange will have to be canceled. However, even its failure will be valuable for if someone wants to try something similar. They will be able to look at it and use where it went wrong to make theirs succeed.
