Knorth War Cry firbholg March 24 2021, 15:36:08 UTC
Thinking of a rathorn in combat, I am reminded of the battle-cry of House Knorth. We saw Jame and the other Knorth cadets use this, when pledging to honor Tentir and the Randon tradition, to surprising result. But surely its true use is in actual combat in the field.

I think we also saw Jame spook someone with it in an earlier book. But we have not seen it used, by Jame, confirmed as Lordan, after having received Randon training, and I think we could, and should, to demonstrate her growing (if uneasy) mastery of her Shanir nature.

I could imagine she and Death's Head crying out in unison, instinctively, to devestating effect. However good the Central Lands cataphract, even if he's heard similar from Knorth Kendar in the past, he is unlikely to be prepared for Jame, using the power which is hers by right, as it was intended to be used.

Also a way to show progression from mis-using a Master Rune or the Great Dance, however pressing the emergency.

Also - LJ lost my account info, so I made a new one. Formerly posting here as fir_bholg with an underscore. Same guy. :)

Good point about the rathorn battle cry. Looking back, I can't imagine why I didn't use it when the Karnids attacked Kothifir and Jame charged them. I'll try to work it in to the current conflict, once I figure out where it would be most dramatic.

Maybe Jame didn't use the rathorn cry in Kothifer because the leader on the other side as also a Knorth (and it was a family matter).
