Pre-birthday fun, new video game info style
As the night before my birthday, I found today to be full of lots of new FF and KH information, haha. I'm going to list some of the highlights under the cut, so read at your choice. Speculation is also provided, so feel free to voice your opinions as well!
Kingdom Hearts
I) As expected, the KH:BBSFM secret ending has already been ripped. The strange thing? It's in two parts. Perhaps the Secret Episode takes place between part 1 and part 2. Heavily implied we'll get a BBS sequel~! I can't seem to figure out whether I've seen the castle shown before or not. Any guesses?
II) KH3D's full title is KH3D: Dream Drop Distance. While I think the title is cute, it still seems a bit silly. Regardless, it's confirmed we'll get to see a Hunchback of Notre Dame world, yay! I still don't know why they're using KH1 models, but it's still supposed to take place after KH2 and before KH3.
Final Fantasy
III) Does anyone remember FFXIII: Agito? Now it's no longer part of the FFXIII whatever. It's going by the name Final Fantasy Type-0 (I've also seen it referred to as Shiki-0) and will be relaesed sometime in the summer.
IV) FFXIII is getting a sequel, called FFXIII-2. All I've seen is the new logo and one image of Lightning in a more revealing outfit that seems more "knightly" than her main costume. I think that they'll have to drastically change things if they want to win back those of us who played FFXIII and ultimately didn't enjoy the result.
V) FFvsXIII is still chugging along, now with in-game graphics and exploration, hooray! I'm really excited about this game, and the more I see, the more interested in playing I get. Noctis finally has a voice, and it's one I recognize, haha. Anyone else who's familiar with Lucky Dog 1 will know that it's Gian's voice actor, but for everyone else, it's Tatsuhisa Suzuki. I'm actually surprised by how much Gian-like Noctis is shaping up to be. <3
VI) The Dissidia012 demo was released in Japan (you must pay 300yen to play it), and along with it came a trailer showing most of the finalized cast. Noteworthy fresh information includes:
Chaos side additions: Cloud, Terra/Tina, and Tidus
Cosmos side additions: Kuja and Jecht
Lots of the new alternate outfits are incredibly amusing, but some are very anticlimactic. Although I'm not familiar with FFXI, I think I can like Prishe. :D I never got far enough in FFV to know about Gilgamesh, but at least lots of people are happy that he's included.
And I'm still bummed about how the 3DS will be region-locked. :( I'll probably get the U.S. version, then see if there are enough imports coming out to make getting an import version worth it. Otherwise, it's best to wait and see.
