"Hyahyahya" should not be a lyric

Okay, I got distracted by something different, yet not completely unexpected? XD; That's for you to decide.

I think it was one of my weirder researching days that led me to this fact, that there is a Kuroshitsuji musical series. Yes, more than one musical, thus a series. I saw the limited edition available of the first musical available to buy, and since I was in a weird mood, I thought why not? XD

Ironically, a day after the DVD got shipped, I realized that someone had basically the whole thing on YouTube. OTL Whoops! So here's what I have, ignoring that.

I've mentioned off and on how I dislike region locking. This is no different. D: For some reason, I can't watch this on the computer, so you get to endure my lousy photos.

On the left is the obi thing that somehow has a nice photo of the two guys playing Ciel and Sebastian. On the right is the cover of the DVD holder. The real outer case holding everything, including a booklet showing all the actors and whatnot, doesn't have any spiffy art, thus I didn't bother taking a photo of it, haha.

No, I didn't take the time to watch every little part yet because this musical is over 2 hours long! @_@ And since it's untranslated, I can't pick up 100% of what's going on anyway. I will point out some of the amusing little things I did watch.

Example 1:

We get to see disguised!Grell who acts super coy and feels up Sebastian as soon as they see each other, haha. He plays up his clumsy side only when he's not interacting with Sebastian or has obvious ulterior motives. I know this is probably another example of parallel universe retellings/side stories (see the Bleach or Phoenix Wright musicals for similar stuff), so there is a lot of behavioral exaggeration going on. Of course, Sebastian is helping with a party and facepalms at Grell's behavior before nearly throwing him out by the collar.

Example 2:

Undertaker is nearly perfect from what I can see, but man, his song made me nearly cry it was so random. XD; Look at those lyrics! A good portion of the song is his laughing. OTL There are dancing skeletons and mice/rat puppets, all the while everyone else present in the scene was freaking out, haha.

Example 3:

He really does look right out of the manga/anime~! And true to his character, he has a sequence involving the other characters trying to make him laugh. Considering how awful most of the humor is, it's no surprise it took so long, haha.

Example 4:

The "Red and Black" song makes me realize that although Sebastian here has a much higher voice than in the TV series (to be honest, I initially thought he was played by a woman due to how high his voice sounded), at least he can sing. Grell sounds just fine while talking yet, like most of the cast here, isn't that great while singing. I did laugh at the fail!fighting going on between the two and how Sebastian was stomping on Grell at the end with added crunch sound effects. I wish I took a photo of Grell's infamous pose, but he also does it in the booklet, so maybe next time I'll try again or scan that in.

As part of this limited edition release, there is a second DVD showing some behind the scenes stuff, which can be very funny. There's also a sample of how different the "let's make Undertaker laugh" sequence ended up during each day of performing.

Even though this is the first musical DVD I actually own, finding the ones I've seriously wanted has never been this easy. For example, I really find the Bleach musicals to be pretty neat, humorous, and some of the songs actually are pretty good, yet I can't find any of the musicals on DVD anywhere. D: What is up with that!?

Back to continuing on my previous list of art, if I can actually get my brain together. I'm also really looking forward to seeing scans of the next chapter of Bleach because I really want to draw what the previews are suggesting. :D

Edit: Saw a spoiler picture for the next Bleach chapter and I don't care anymore, I'm drawing it now! Or at least early sketch, hahaha. The question is always can I finish it anytime soon? We'll see!
