The postition of the misleading sentence was varied under the assumption that placing it first might prove more difficult because it would require an inference revision, asthe previus example demonstrates.  Indeed, unlike NBD (Non  Brain Damaged) controls, RHD (Right Hemisphere Damaged) subjects had more problems answering inferential questions when the misleading information occurred first.  The authors concluded that deficits in revision may make it difficult for RHD patients to "infer the most appropriate ink or conceptual bridge between individual sentences in a discourse."
