(One-shot) Hot Chocolate

Nov 20, 2009 03:44

This was written lamely by me for the Chocolyn's 1st Quarterly Fanfiction Contest back in July (way before Liyin's comeback and also before the DBSKtrio vs SM chaos surfaced ;___;). I was in my Liyin deprivation mood and kind of emo-ing when I wrote this. >_> Liyin's been ninja-ing herself for months at that time and we, Chocolates been missing her so much. Feel like posting this for the very first time in my LJ :teehee:

Summary: Liyin couldn't help but to wonder how was it like to be really busy, to perform in front of seas of fans, to be really famous...

Hot Chocolate

* Chocolate : The name of Zhang Li Yin's unofficial fanbase.
**Cassiopeia : The name of DBSK's official fanbase.
*** Gold : The colour for Liyin's fanbase (Chocolates) in China only.
**** Red : The colour for Cassioppeia.

“Oppa..?”

Her voice softly broke the silence of the night. There were just the two of them at the park, sitting side by side on the wooden bench. They did nothing but to place their gazes onto the night sky. It had become a routine for him to meet her at the park when it already passed midnight every time he came home. He loved to have her as company and so did she. Together searching for a moment of solitary. Of privacy.

He slowly turned to face her, a small smile coming its way onto his handsome face.

“Hmm..?” He waited patiently for her to continue. Her eyes caught his, staring into them for quite a moment before she decided to break the contact. She then brought her gaze down onto the ground, playfully kicking the non existent dirt.

“How does it feel like to be very busy? Very tight schedules, countless of performance invitations, TV shows… and all?”

His brows creased briskly before he chuckled at the random question she posed. He looked back to the front and then leaned his back comfortably against the bench, a sigh escaping his lips.

“Tired. Exhausted. Depressed. Well… you want me to go on? I can rant to you about that matter till the break of the dawn but I don’t wish to spoil the mood anyway. Besides, you should know how it feels like since you’re a singer like me too, Liyin.” He carelessly spoke as he tilted his head slightly backward, slowly shutting his eyes. He savoured the peaceful feeling offered by the night. It’s good to be home, he thought.

“We’re not exactly the same, Oppa. You are very famous while I am not,” She bitterly smiled as she cautiously whispered her statement into the air, not audible enough to be heard by the boy.

She missed doing the thing she loved the most; performing on stage, singing passionately in front of a group of audience. She wished for her calendar to be filled in with activities, so that she gets to rant about a hectic schedule too, just like the others in the company. But she was not given the chance to.

“How does it feel to see seas of red every time you perform on stage?” She asked him once more.

Eyes still closed, he immediately smiled in amusement to hear another weird question coming from her.

“Why are you asking me that question, Liyin? I guess you knew how it felt like since you yourself used to performTimeless with Junsu hyung in front of seas of red, for countless of times.”

Her smile became bitterer but she just suppressed the sorrow felt.

She observed carefully the boy’s facial expression as he seemed to be slowly drifted away, probably recalling the image of the vibrant colour and the loud chants. His smile grew wider unconsciously. It didn’t require her to see the glints in his eyes to know that his heart was growing warmer. The contented smile laced with a hint of gratitude gave the answer away. The seas of Cassiopeia often mesmerize him and touch his heart. She couldn’t help but to feel a little jealous of him.

She somehow wished to perform in front of seas of gold, too.

As they were being slowly opened, his eyes were greeted with a solemn look on her face. She was staring into space, lost in thought. He quietly questioned himself as to why she was acting that way. He then gradually recalled the questions asked by her and it was then when the realization hit him.

She was probably feeling distressed over her new album preparations which have yet to be finalized due to a lot of problems. She must be thinking of her fans and perhaps wondering mildly whether they’ll have enough patience to wait for her. And perhaps she was worrying over her career in general, too.

He just had to mentally curse himself for being so tactless earlier. The jetlag must have taken its toll on him.

He immediately stood up, pulled the hoodie up over his head before doing the same to her. His sudden acts jolted her back into reality. She looked up at him, puzzled as to what he was up to. He offered a hand and she accepted it, giving him the chance to gently help her to stand on her feet. He then carefully intertwined his fingers with hers.

“Ready?” He flashed a brilliant smile to her before pulling her hand, wanting her to run together with him. Though she was not given even a moment to hesitate and she was perfectly clueless as to where he was taking her to, she followed him nonetheless. From small steps, the finally ran in quite a speed, in sync. The gentle night breeze tingled against their skins, allowing them to feel so carefree within and laughed lightly along the way. The tight grip of his hand gave her a strong feeling of security, making her feel important and needed. His smile is indeed infectious as she is having one on her face too. She loved it.

He started to slow down his pace as they finally reached a row of shops where there were very few people and the shops were mostly closed. They made a sudden stop in front of a hot beverages vending machine, standing still on the floor at the corner of the road.

Still catching on his breath, he struggled to fish out a few coins from his pocket. She didn’t say a word as her eyes followed each of his movements in amusement, watching him getting a cup of Cadbury’s hot chocolate. She knew that it was for her the moment he placed the hot cup carefully in her hands, spreading the warmth onto her palms straight away.

“Have a sip.” He simply asked her to.

She observed the steams coming up from the cup, sniffed in the rich smell of chocolate and then cautiously sipped in the drink. The warm and fuzzy feeling felt inside herself invited a smile onto her face.

“How does it feel?” Leaning against the floor standing machine, he never let his eyes off her beautiful face. He felt contented to see her face being lit up by the tender smile she possessed.

“Warm?” She answered shortly before taking another sip. He nodded in satisfaction to hear the answer.

“How does it taste like?”

“Sweet?”

“..and?”

“Smooth? Rich?” She had no idea why he had to bombard her with such questions, but answered him still. It’s not like he never taste any hot chocolate before, she mildly mused to herself.

“Rich, passionate and sweet.” He beamed as he finished the sentence.

She looked straight into his eyes for the familiar words spoken.

Chocolates.

The images of her fans came flooding into her mind in an instant.

Liyin, jia yo!

The fan letters, the encouraging messages, the loud cheers, those thoughtful gifts, the never ending support, the faith and most importantly, the love.

Liyin, jia yo!

There was a brief moment of silence between them. He placed his hand on her head, affectionately ruffling her hair.

“You should always believe in yourself, Liyin ah. Because they believe in you. Liyin, fighting!”

She could feel her eyes started stinging as she nodded quietly, a few droplets of tears ended up running down her flawless cheeks.

She will always have faith in herself and Chocolates, no matter what obstacles may come in her way.

Using both his thumbs to wipe off the tears, he then cupped her face tenderly in his palms. Her cheeks warmed and her heart being calmed by his touch.

“How does it feel?”

“Warm.” His warm touch. Her warm heart.

After a moment, he slowly leaned forward, and let his lips met hers. It was a simple kiss, but sweet nevertheless.

“How do I taste like?”

His question got her to chuckle lightly and she raised a brow in understanding as she now knew where he was heading to with his questions. She couldn’t stop herself from blushing.

“Rich, passionate and sweet.” She decided to play along with him. She got to see his infamous mismatched eyes when he bashfully smiled at her.

“Since I am a Chocolate too, what kind of Chocolate do you think I am? Dark chocolate? Milk chocolate? Couverture?”

She paused to think of it and long that she stared deeply into his eyes. After a few seconds, a playful grin broke across her face. She surprised him with a sudden soft kiss placed onto his cheek.

It was now his turn to blush and grinned like a happy fool for the kiss received.

“You, Mr Mismatched Eyes, are one hot Chocolate.”

End

...

Very sorry for the over-flowing cheesiness and the gag-feeling that it might be causing. LMAO. Couldn't really help it, though. ^^;; And this is my first time posting my writing in LJ, so I'm feeling kind of embarrassed. =^^= Btw, "rich, passionate and sweet" is what Liyin describe Chocolate as, in her "thanks to" in her I Will album. ^__^ ...and last but not least, an obligatory Min-Yin pic:
