Prompt: #168 - "I was expecting you to kiss me weeks ago."
Pairing(s): Hotch/Garcia because I promised it.
Spoiler(s): Set during Season 2. Spoilers from a plotline during that season.
Garcia loved to help people. She volunteered in a counseling program during her free time to help grieving families. She knew the look that said a person has lost something dear to them.
It was obvious, then, that Hotch was in pain. He wasn't telling the team though. He just had to be the fearless leader. He protested at first when Garcia began bringing him soup in tupperware or a cup of tea.
Eventually, he began to open up and she was the first person he told that Hayley had left. The next day instead of just dropping by, Garcia invited herself in and had lunch with Hotch.
He had always admired her ability to light up a room and was grateful for her company during this time. They made lunch a regular thing on days the team wasn't on a case.
Months after Garcia started taking care of him, Hotch invited her over this house for dinner.
"It's my turn to do something for you."
That night was the first time he kissed her. It was slow and sweet and everything he had dreamed of and more.
"I was expecting you to kiss me weeks ago," she said.
"I had to repay your kindness first," he explained.
"The kiss would have been enough."
Prompt: #347 - "That is the biggest bird I have ever seen."
Character(s): David, Nate, Claire, Rico
Spoiler(s): Set during Season 4. Spoilers from a plotline during that season.
Notes: The movie that Nate and Claire are watching is Big Fish. It's one of my favourites. :3
David was looking everywhere for Rico, but he was nowhere to be seen. He walked into the living room where Nate and Claire were glued to the TV while Maya played on the floor.
"Have either of you seen Federico?" he asked exasperated.
"Naw, sorry. We've been watching this movie," Nate said.
"It's really weird," Claire added.
'The raven said "Your daddy's going to die."' drawled the character on the screen.
"How heart warming," David muttered.
Suddenly, a raven flew into the window. The Fisher children all raced to see if it was alright. It had collected itself and was now sitting on the windowsill.
"That is the biggest bird I have ever seen," David said.
"Do you think it's here to tell us someone's going to die?" Claire asked laughing.
"That's okay as long as they use Fisher & Diaz for the funeral," David said.
"No, he's here to ask how Lenore is doing," Nate said.
"What if he actually just said 'nevermore' right now? Would you freak out?" Claire asked.
"It would take alot to freak me out anymore," David said.
"Nevermore."
"Did you guys hear that?" Claire looked to her brothers.
"Yeah, actually," Nate said.
"Nevermore."
"Enough you two," David scolded. "I need to find Rico."
"Nevermore!"
The siblings all jumped at the last 'nevermore' causing the bird to fly away.
Rico came in from the kitchen laughing. "Oh that was too easy," he said wiping a tear from the corner of his eye.
"You'll be nevermore if you don't get back to work," David said storming out of the room.
Prompt: #323 - write about the voice on the radio
Character(s): Reid, original
When Reid wanted to shut down, he would drive around his neighborhood and listen to the local college radio station. There was one DJ who worked late at nights who would tell stories as if his listeners were right there in the studio with him.
Reid liked him because the stories were always about the mundane things he had done that day, but he made them hilarious. He spoke in a quiet, dead pan manner, though, as if he didn't truly wish to be there. He was dedicated to the station and never missed a show.
Reid sometimes thought about calling the station to make a request just so he could hear that voice solely talking to him, but he would hang up before he could finish punching in the number.
He knew better, but he felt that he almost knew the DJ on a personal level after listening to his show for so long. Reid gathered up the courage to finally call in. The men talked for awhile and he put in his request for a song.
Just as he was pulling up in front of his house, the music faded and the DJ began to speak.
"This song goes out to Spencer. I'm glad you found your escape."
