Prompt: #273 - write about the missing keys
"How can you lose your keys Pretty Boy?" Morgan asked laughing as he helped his nervous wreck of a boyfriend search for the keys in question.
"Eidetic memory Derek. I remember everything I read not every place I set something down," Reid chided. "Now keep looking or I'll be late."
"I could give you a ride Spencer," Morgan suggested.
"But I thought we agreed..."
"I'm tired of hiding us," Morgan said. "Let's just show up at work together. I'm sure the team already has their suspicions."
Reid stopped his search and hugged Morgan. "I love you," he whispered.
"I love you too," Morgan said as he hugged him back. He thought he could feel something in Reid's pants pocket.
"Hey Pretty Boy. I hate to ruin the moment, but I think I found your keys."
Prompt: #269 - write your next scene from the POV of the family pet
Clooney whimpered and retracted into the corner. He never liked it when Morgan and Reid fought. It always meant Morgan would forget his walk and Reid would yell at him for being underfoot.
A plate went flying and Reid burst into tears. Clooney let out a quiet bark as if to say "Why can't we all get along?" Reid ran over and hugged him, his tears damping Clooney's fur.
"Why don't you take Clooney for a walk? Blow off some steam," Reid said.
The dog's ears perked up at the mention of the word 'walk'. Maybe it wasn't that awful when his owners fought. Too bad that Clooney didn't know that as he dragged Morgan down the street that Reid was packing his bags.
Prompt: #266 - write something using these words: estimate, meddle, content, cloud, hallway
"The carpenter said he should be around Tuesday to give an estimate," Reid said as he hung up the phone.
"Pretty Boy, I told you not to call someone," Morgan called from the hallway. Due to the house's current lack of drywall, Reid could hear him perfectly.
"Derek, this isn't one of your houses you're fixing up. It's our first house together," Reid said as he joined his boyfriend upstairs. "Why meddle when we can hire a professional?"
"You don't think I can do it?" Morgan asked hurt.
"No. You're taking what I said out of context. You shouldn't have to strain yourself."
"I just want it to be perfect," Morgan explained.
"It will be," Reid said as he embraced Morgan. "You know, that cloud looks like a heart."
"Okay, maybe I will need help patching the roof," Morgan said as he looked up and was greeted by rays of sunshine coming in.
"I'm glad you're finally seeing it may way," Reid said. "The only room I want you worrying about is the bedroom."
The holes in the roof and dust on the floor was forgotten as the men raced to the bedroom. Morgan admitted the house could wait until Tuesday. He and Reid had the rest of their lives together to make memories in their home.
Prompt: #234 - Three friends in a bar make a pact to proposition the next person who walks by.
Morgan decided to wind down at the end of the week by going out for drinks at a bar that had just opened downtown with his friends Bobby and Marcus. Three drinks in and none of the men was having much luck with the ladies.
"Let's make a deal guys," Marcus said. "Next person that walks by, one of us has to ask to dance."
"You mean any person or the next woman," Bobby said, "because look who just came in the door." He laughed as a tall, lanky man in a baggy cardigan and khakis walked toward the bar.
"Holy shit!" Morgan said. "That's Reid."
"The super smart guy you work with?" Bobby asked.
"You have to ask him to dance!" Marcus said.
"What? I never agreed to the deal," Morgan protested as his friends pushed him to his coworker. Morgan accidentally bumped into Reid's arm causing him to spill his drink.
"Reid, I'm sorry," Morgan said quickly.
"Oh, hey Morgan," Reid said looking genuinely surprised. "It's alright. I didn't, uh, expect to see you here."
"Me either." Morgan glanced over and saw Bobby and Marcus wildly gesturing to him. "Reid, this may sound really weird, but would you like to dance?" He shifted nervously as Reid sipped what was left of his drink and realized he hadn't been this nervous since he was a kid.
"I thought you'd never ask," Reid said as he sat his empty glass on the bar and led Morgan to the dance floor. Reid assumed that Morgan didn't know that the new bar in town was a gay bar, but he was going to enjoy his one dance.
