Reid twirled the CD idlelessly as his mind raced. Richard had all of his music collection meticulously organized without a single disc out of place.
'So why was this one case empty?' Reid thought.
He grabbed a paper clip from the desk and straightened the end. He couldn't believe that he hadn't thought of this before.
"I've been thinking about the CDs," he said as he approached Morgan.
"Reid, we've been through all of this guy's head banging heavy metal CDs," Morgan said as he ran his hand over his face. He looked exhausted and why wouldn't he be? He had spent hours trying to figure out this password.
"I think we might have missed the obvious."
Reid used the paperclip to open the CD-ROM on the laptop revealing the missing Metallica CD that had been driving him crazy.
"Reid, how'd you think of this?"
"It was the only case that was empty."
"I could kiss you right now," Morgan said as he took the case. He read down the track list, searching for the song that would get him into Richard's cyberworld.
"Then do it," Reid quickly blurted out.
"What?" Morgan had typed in the password and looked at Reid, shocked, as the desktop loaded.
"Then kiss me," Reid clarified sounding braver and more sure of himself this time. "I'm right here. Always have been."
"Reid, this isn't the time," Morgan said as he clicked open a webcam program. "Is that..."
"Heather's still alive," Reid said, forgetting the awkward exchange not one minute ago. He leaned in and watched the live feed as Morgan called Gideon. He couldn't believe it. They could still save her.
Morgan snapped his phone shut and turned to Reid, capturing him in a kiss. Reid was taken aback at first, but was soon kissing Morgan back. He traced Morgan's lips who moaned into the kiss as he reached around to pull Reid closer.
When they finally pulled apart all Reid could do was whisper, "Wow."
"I'm sorry I missed the obvious," Morgan said. "I promise I'll pay better attention in the future."
