Prompt: #124 - Your character is digging through an attic and finds an old box. Write about what's inside.
Pairing(s): Prentiss/Reid though no names are mentioned.
Notes: This is set in the future (indefinite amount of time).
She couldn't live in this house anymore. Everything reminded her of him. It was enough torture having to work with him day after day that thinking of cuddling and watching movies together every time she looked at her couch was too much.
She had finished packing everything downstairs and moved to the attic. She had hardly used it except to store a few odds and ends. Most of it was already in boxes and it was a matter of moving them out. As she was carrying the last box down, she tripped and lost her grip. The box fell and the contents spilled out.
Pictures of them... at the park or a party or just at home. Every little Post It note he would leave her. She hoarded it all trying to remember. It wasn't fair that he would always remember it all vividly and never suffer. She had to hold onto this house, these keepsakes.
She took the box and threw it into the dumpster in the alley, leaving that life behind.
Prompt: #141 - A bookstore clerk decides to recommend the same book to all customers, regardless of what they ask for.
Character(s): Garcia, original characters
Notes: So Long and Thanks for All the Fish has to be my favourite Hitchhiker's book as well, and if you read my stories, you know that I always make Garcia a Hitchhiker fan.
It was a slow day at the bookstore and Penelope sat behind the register with her feet propped up and a book open.
It wasn't just any book. It was her favourie in the Hitchhiker's series, So Long and Thanks for All the Fish. She was just about to get to the best part when a man walked up.
"Excuse me, do you have any books on fishing?"
Penelope stuck her book mark between the pages and sized the customer up.
"So Long and Thanks for All the Fish," she said point to the science fiction section.
Just as she was about to return to her reading, a woman walked up and asked "Do you have a good romance novel? With beaches?"
"So Long and Thanks for All the Fish," Penelope said waggling the bookmark at the man who was staring oddly at the book he held.
'Where did all these customers come from?' she thought as a little girl stood up on tip toes to look at Penelope.
"Do you have a book with talking animals?"
"So Long and Thanks for All the Fish."
All three of the customers ended up purchasing the book and Penelope smiled. She was proud to spread the gospel of 42.
Prompt: #139 - write about a messy, public breakup
Pairing(s): Morgan/Reid
Notes: It's always Reid being in a relationship with someone who wants to hide it. What if Reid was the one hiding?
Why had Reid decided to do this here? They were on their way back to the station and Morgan was balancing lunch and case files. He paid for both orders and Reid started whispering harshly.
"I can pay for myself."
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean anything. I just wanted to do something nice for my boyfriend."
"I told you when we're on a case, we're not dating."
"Reid, I'm tired of hiding," Morgan said raising his voice.
"Don't start Morgan. You knew what you were getting into."
"Well, I'm sick of it!" Morgan shouted turning around with his arms stretched out. "I want the world to know: I love this man!"
Reid started at Morgan as he began to blush bright crimson. His embarrassment soon turned to anger and punched Morgan's arm.
"I hate you! You are not my boyfriend, okay? It was just some fun. It's over!" He stormed off to the SUV leaving Morgan to stand there as passerby looked on. He dropped Reid's lunch into the trash and started to follow him to the car.
"Get the fuck out of here!" he shouted at a man who was watching. "There's nothing to see!"
"You're such a bitch," Reid muttered as they slipped into the car.
"And you're heartless," Morgan replied.
"Let me look at that file."
"Yeah, okay. Here you go."
Prompt: #133 - After a violent thunderstorm, a man finds a rain-soaked diary among the debris in his yard.
Pairing(s): Jim/Daniel
Notes: A Glades community has to start up sooner or later. -evil laughter-
I never wanted to be back in Chicago more than when the hurricane hit Florida that day. Like it wasn't bad enough dealing with half my house blowing away, but than I had a lunatic running around on a spree.
All I wanted to do was go home and sleep. You know, as long as I still had a bed. The damage wasn't that bad, but my yard was covered in more junk than if I was having a yard sale.
I got a garbage bag from inside and began picking things up. I came across a rain-soaked diary and being the snoop that I am, I opened it and began to read. I was surprised to find out that it was my favourite intern's - Daniel.
The one entry ended up making him sound like a high school girl with a crush. But wait. Did that just say 'he'? He is good looking? I read on and realized that he was writing about me.
Well, that was an interesting turn of events.
The next day I brought the diary into work in an evidence bag and handed it to Daniel.
"You're gonna have to let that dry out Casanova," I said with a wink.
He blushed when he comprehended that I had read it.
"I tried to tell my old boss I didn't sleep with his wife and for a good reason. You busy tonight?"
