I had a great trip to New York to see my sister this weekend. I got some work done, walked a lot, ate a lot of good food, and saw Nathan Lane in The Nance, which was incredible. Even more excitingly, I saw Ian McKellen AT The Nance -- sitting right in front of me!
I was also especially excited to get some Peter Pan donuts down in Brooklyn this morning. I don't even like donuts very much, but I could eat a box of those things.
We did not ever make it to a museum like we'd planned, but we did make it to that bakery, Whole Foods, our two favorite Italian restaurants, Big Gay Ice Cream, Eataly, and a cafe where we sat for hours readings. Good thing we walked so much.
On the less happy things that happened this weekend:
+ I'm too depressed about politics to talk further about them right now. I was reading articles and reblogging shit until much too late last night.
+ I'm very sad about Cory Monteith, who died far too young. I am also not very happy about the confirmation of the fact that apparently the words "found dead," in conjunction with a young person with whom I have any familiarity, are apparently such a strong trigger that they can produce an anxiety attack. (Issues, I have them, and I'm coming up on a really bad anniversary.)
