Hmm, it's been a while since I posted, hasn't it?
Yikes, almost a month, evidently.
I'm 28 now. I have... a husband, a house, a car, 2 cats, 6 chickens, and a garden to show for it. Not even a college education.
But I'm writing, and that's what matters. I'm glad I'm writing fanfic again, too. For whatever reason, it's helped me be able to focus on the original fiction more, which is good. Really good.
However, I'm baffled as to how it's suddenly 3 pm, because I meant to sit down and write ANYTHING two hours ago, and I've done practically zero writing.
I really need to put my phone on silent *sigh*.
So, updates on things:
Writing-wise: Heard back on the full request, it's a revise & resubmit. But I got agent feedback, and that's the important part! I also got feedback from a couple other critiquers, and have a nice chunk of revisions to start with.
Somehow, I ended up with FIVE points of view in the story. My intent is to cut it back to three. And to bring some characters in sooner, so there's going to be a bit of plot restructuring. *groan*
Family-drama-wise: The sperm donor is still... alive? Which is actually saying a lot, since the dr's gave him two weeks back in April. Mom is currently sticking it out with him, but she's still getting counseling from the local DVIS clinic, and I can already tell a huge difference in her outlook.
Still doesn't stop the endless phone calls at times, though.
Mom's brother & his family are also coming down to visit in two weeks. And mom's going back with them for a week.
July is going to be interesting. Please pray that I survive/don't end up in jail.
Aaaand, in other news! Camp NaNo is right around the corner. Yeah, that's happening in July too. Like I said, pray I don't die. Because those re-writes I was talking about up there? I'm going to try and tackle them in July. I'm nuts.
Also, my Camp NaNo cabin has two other Fullmetal Alchemist fans in it. It's AWESOME.
And... I think that's all.
Oh right! Other than the fact that I'm now doing a
writing blog with 5 other writer friends. And we met Patrick Rothfuss at a conference a couple months ago. And one of those other writing friends practically interviewed him while there. And we got permission to post it on the blog.
And Patrick Rothfuss shared the link on his facebook page.
And we got 2500 hits in a single day.
It was awesome.
