Ready to spray paint

Originally uploaded by taerinIt's practically last minute, considering that ConDFW is next weekend, but I'm trying to get a couple props completed, and I haven't had a chance to paint this thing yet.
I'm new enough to spray painting that doing it in the dark seems like a bad idea, and I don't get home from work during the week until long after sundown.
I finally got a chance to do it today, and did a dreadful job on the cylinder. I'm not sure whether to give it a second coat, or just not worry about it since some of it will be covered up by stuff that gets attached.
The two end caps got covered fairly well, though there are tiny places where the pinkish copper shows through. I was afraid to make as big a mess on those as I did with the cylinder, so I went pretty easy. They seem ok, though.
