Dreams

So, how am I suppose to get past the whole loosing the job thing and everything associated with it when I keep dreaming about it over and over? Every time I think I'm starting to put it behind me and not think about it for a while, I have another dream about the whole thing, putting me mentally right back where I started.

When I want to change my derams, I watch something or read something full of really vivid images. Something that will stick with me for a while. Otherwise, it means theres something still running around in that head of yours that wants to be heard. Perhaps you need to find something to take your mind off it, or to work through the issues revolving around it... I find hitting things to be very theraputic, especially when they hit back.

tough question. One method would be to sit down, ask yourself what emotional responses these dreams trigger, and then try to convince yourself that those responses are unnecessary/wrong/unimportant. Doing things to disprove those responses would also help a lot.

As an example, if your big fear is that you won't be able to find a new job, then finding a new job is the best way to deal with that fear. Since that fear makes it harder to get the energy to look for a job, it obviously won't be easy.

*hugs* I know that feeling. Of course, it's why I try to actively not remember my dreams, but I often still have a vague sense of what my dreams were about. Um... *tries to think of good advice* And this too shall pass. (If only it'd pass faster.)

If you are dreaming, then at least you are sleeping! :) John
