As per standard, No Pink. Anything Pink goes to M's sister Norka or Veggie's unsuspecting coworkers. =P
New disclaimer: Above and beyond the 'I'll hiss at you and attempt to beat you with them' Don't Buy Me Roses* command,
apparently I throw the smell of roses harder than I throw the smell of frankincense. And I throw the smell of frankincense.
General Notes: My birthday is 5th January if you like marking those events with Things. I am slightly allergic to lavender & cumin, and am sensitive to patchouli and florals like gardenia and jasmine. I hate roses*. I am easily lured by ravens, scuttling-in-the-wind leaves,
opals**, Speyside Scotches, knives, and dark greens (with no admixture of yellow. Olive shoes are a travesty).
*: Stupid fantasy story and its stupid iconography and modern culture's love for that iconography . . .

• lightly patterned Socks: wheat, gingko, oak-leaved, socks wot go Quork, vines, etc. I wear a US women's size 7.5 or 8.
• Cards Against Humanity: I own the 1st and 3rd expansions, and the basic set. Organization and storage devices would also not go amiss, the cards are starting to come for our souls.
• very minimally patterned Gloves: evergreen, cool grey, charcoal, rust, black. My wrist is 6.5 inches around, my knuckles are between 7.5 and 8 inches around, and it is 7.25 inches from heel of palm to longest fingertip. This seems to put me in the larger end of women's M most consistently.
• Corvidae: I prefer silhouettes or watercolours to Bill Reid-esque work. Small art cards and figures will be tucked into the corners of my living spaces where they can quork at the unsuspecting. A ginormous evening commute silhouettes against an orangey sunset sky painting would get stared at in fascination and then hung up over the couch in Vancouver to confuse the deck fauna.
• Earrings: ... of course Etsy will only show the available products if you search in someone's 'ooer' list. Oy. The unsorted list is
here, and should give at least a sense of what I Ponderface in earrings. I like light-catchers that aren't a single solid piece, and will be drawn to more minimalist designs and translucency.
• Beeswax: undyed pillar candles,
plotting pumpkins in dyed colours
• Tea: golden-noted multi wash oolongs. I love Blenz' Iron Buddha and Special Tea's Tie Kwan Yin.
• Wine: tilted to sweet (but not ice wine sweet) riesling, chenin blanc
• Rum: Ron Zacapa 23y blend
• Bourbon: Eagle Rare 10, Basil Hayden
• Scotch: Speyside or Highland, descriptions that include spicy, sweet, fruit, or honey notes. (Dalmore 12 or Cigar Malt [not that anyone seems to be making the cigar malt anymore], Dalwhinnie 15, The Glenlivet 15)
Scotches I haven't tried but would like to: Glenfiddich Solera 15, Benriach 15 (finished in rum barrel)
• Books: As always, many of the books I go *!!* at are themed or regional nonfiction history. Please buy used, especially on a subject that isn't in your personal wheelhouse, and remember that most texts have about a ten year span before they start reading as distractingly dated.
My biggest collection is Russia-themed, but I'm trying to work on Central Asia and middle-ages-to-industrial Europe in addition to trading empires, kinesiology, commerce, manual therapy, war, dyes, spices, pain, blah, blah, blah . .
I have an iPad mini and use Calibre to manage my collection of non-physical books.
Formats for e-books I know I can handle: EPUB, PDF, MOBI.
If feasible please check formatting for readability.
