Makin' the rounds

So I bit K over in her journal for the icon meme, and she gave me a list of five. :)

Supposed technical rules:
1. Reply to this post with 'Icons!', and I will pick five of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will - allegedly - create a never-ending cycle of icon glee.

this is not a tea icon - when I first made this (it's actually an old default; I was having a bad human summer), a lot of my flist had tea icons of various sorts, comfort and civilization and various other meanings attached to the cup and the liquid in it. This is a kettle, over a dancing fire, in a room filled with sun and smoke. What the kettle contains, and what you do with it, are up to you. As I use it currently, it can mean comfort and safe spaces, but at heart, it's a human-less room, with a fire.

wonderous lands - is an echo back to an icon I used to have, that was all greeny gold light in a tree clearing and, just in the corner, the impression of a path going somewhere out of sight. This one is a shot of Puget Sound, and echoes to the rambling I used to do with I was younger, and the firm belief that if you go off the beaten path, you might just wind up in some other world.

amber mala - this is a shot of a tibetan rosary (a mala), made of cognac amber; it's a beautiful image, all warm light and shapes, but what I use it for is counting things, marking things, bearing witness.

a hint of wonder - In my opinion, dragonfly wings are some of the most amazing things on the planet, and they've been here for millions of years. It's important to pack a sense of wonder, when you go exploring the world. :)

things left unexplained - I have no idea what the significance of the action in the photograph is. Which was part of the appeal, in using it for an icon of the things I don't explain, in storytelling or in faith, the corners of the world I can leave shadowy, because real life is like that.

If you're curious about others, please do make additional requests in the comments.
