earthquake aniversary

21 years ago my city was devastated, left crying between ruins of buildings, people giving the news that morning died while doing their work... my dad became a hero going inside remains of what once were buildings to get people out. 21 years ago he workd for the red cross and since we don't live together 11 years ago I call him this day every year just becasue it was such a life changing moment in mexican histry and in our lives, after that people flew away from the city and my family as well.

I saw a house falling in front of my eyes when I was 7 and I still can rememebr how the house lokked like and how it went down, my mom was taking us to school and I remember she turning white, the red light we were in was swining so much cables where sort of jumping and the city went quite... I remember this very scary silence. btu again I was 7 and I was oh look the cables are moving like they want to play... of course my brother told me is an earthquake and by the time I saw my mother too scare to talk, I got scared.. then I saw a house colapsing and I got shocked...

Both of my parents are doctors.. the hospital were my mom worked felt down, the hospital were I was born was destroyed. My mom lost some friends that day. Is a day that change a lot of things, I've heard that after that, it was the first time international aid was sent. After that a groups of people dedicated themselves to rescue people who needed in natural disasters. ALmost two years ago (oh my time flies) this group of mexicans went to Indonesia to help witht he tsunami, they also went last year to New Orleans. I've hear this earthquae was the mother of international aid. Something good came from that I guess.

As it happens often witht ragedies there were miracles, from those hospitals that were destroyed, babies survived 7 days under the dust and broken concret with no food nor water... 7 days, new borns survived.

I remember a lot of these day, you see? my dad has always been my hero, but that day and the days after he stayed saving live, that day he became a lot of people's hero. To this day he still has the helmet they gave him to use while egtting people out, while operating inside of broken buildings... he could've die that day cos the state of buildings wasn't safe enough for people get in to save people but they all did.

Now there are a lot of people who don't remember about this day, I do, it changed my life, it made me even more proud of my dad (if that was possible) and am just proud to have him as a dad.

here are a very few images were you can see the devastation And since am not a scientis and I was 7, too young to remember more specific facts (adding that by the time I didn't really care nor did I see more than I just wrote) you can check wikipedia for more on that and from wikipedia you can get more specific facts in here

And those were my memories in a historic even in my country that I will always remember til I leave this live... sorry for typos, spelling mistakes and other annoying things... Think they are part of me :p
