Dreams are cruel.

Good dreams are, in a lot of ways, more unforgiving than the bad dreams. When you have a bad dream, you get scared, terrified and a bit saddened by some random event that’s potentially depressing. Most of the time, you get to wake up, and as soon as you wake, the anxiety is gone. Rarely, you don’t wake up from a bad dream, your breathing halts, your chest tightens, your muscles spasm and you die.

The good dreams take you to a certain high, a certain peak of your emotions that you cannot feel in real life. It takes you up there and it lifts your spirits just as high as you can fly. Events build up, emotions rise, you feel amazing. Certain things fall the way you want them to, and somehow, you manage to get out of seemingly dead-end-binds. You experience things, your ideals are being lived, your desires are being reached, your love you get to kiss…

…but then you wake up.

And that’s just cruel. Giving you a taste of something or someone or an emotion you desire, only you never really got a taste, you just had a dream of the taste of something you won’t be able to get in reality.
