Anyway yeah so I think I'm gonna be doing one or two more chapters of this so don't worry I still have time to make it end in an upsetting way.... :D So yeah I'll try to put up new stuff ASAP~

‘Choi Minho’ read the name displayed on the mailbox next to his. Taemin couldn’t believe it had taken a year for someone to move into the vacant apartment across the hall. A year in time, but it felt all too recent to him. The atmosphere of Taemin’s life was as if Jinki had just left that minute. His heart hurt looking at the new name on that mail box.
He took the stairs back to his apartment. Taemin hadn’t taken the elevator for a year. It reminded him to much of Jinki and while it pained him to remember, at the same time, Taemin never wanted to let go of the times they shared in there. Arriving back to his room, he got a glance of his new neighbor.
The boy was tall -taller than him at least- with black hair and big eyes. Oh those big eyes! Taemin found himself lost in those eyes for a few seconds. They seemed too big to trust but reassuring all the same. The boy caught Taemin staring and flashed him a smile. Nothing too showy but enough to make Taemin’s heart skip a beat.
Feeling uncomfortable in that moment, Taemin quickly looked away and struggled into his apartment door. He was angry, not at the new neighbor but at himself instead. In that moment he had feelings for someone else and it almost felt as though he had cheated on his own idea of Jinki. Of course they had never dated, but Jinki had still meant so much to him. All in all, though it would be in his best interest to move on from the boy who had moved over a year ago, all Taemin really desired was for that same boy to come back into his life.
Taemin wanted to keep his distance from the new neighbor for a bit while he pitied himself over his loss of Jinki but no matter how hard he would try, he’d be unable to stop life to continuing on.
~
The next day Taemin received two fairly normal sized boxes at the front desk. Nothing too fancy, his parents had just gotten back from vacation and had bought him a few souvenirs from their trip. Ironically enough, those two packages seemed to weigh a ton and Taemin was having the hardest time even holding one. A man came running up behind Taemin and asked if the boy needed help with the boxes. Taemin quickly replied yes to the question without seeing who the man was, but as soon as he caught sight of the man’s face, he immediately regretted his decision. His new neighbor Minho had grabbed one of the boxes and headed straight towards the elevator.
“Umm, you know what” Taemin started hesitantly “you can just leave the box here at the front desk and I’ll carry it up later. I don’t want to cause you any trouble”
“No trouble at all. I saw you the other day right? We live on the same floor” the elevator doors opened “I’ll help you out. Plus you don’t really want to lug both of these up all those stairs do you?”
Taemin stood outside the elevator doors for a few seconds; he couldn’t help himself from string at the boy again: there was just something about him.
“Don’t worry” Minho explained as he physically extended his hand to the other “I’ll be here for you”
Taemin felt his stomach lurch forward and his hear move into his throat but these feelings didn’t stop him from cautiously walking into the elevator with his new neighbor.

The ride was very silent to start, the lack of noise almost pierced Taemin’s ears. With all of these ailments he thought of just getting off at the next floor regardless of that fact that it wasn’t his. He just didn’t want to be in the elevator at all. Almost as a sign from an incredibly cruel god, the elevator suddenly jolted and stopped with the lights blinking on an off for a minute.
“Oh god, this is why I don’t take elevators anymore”. Memories of Jinki suddenly filled his head and tears began to well up in Taemin’s eyes.
“Oh gosh’ the man next to him started “are you claustrophobic? I’m so sorry I got you on here without know that. Please don’t worry”, Minho pleaded softly as he pulled Taemin in close to him.  With one hand holding Taemin’s head to his chest and the other wrapped around his waist, Minho whispered “I’m here for you”.
Taemin wasn’t the slightest bit claustrophobic, but as the lights gave their last flicker before shutting off completely, he couldn’t help himself from wrapping his arms around Minho and letting the tears fall from his eyes. He knew he was safe in these arms, with this man. He couldn’t spend his life missing Jinki anymore, he had to move on. As he let his tears go, so did he his feelings of Jinki. For the most part at least. Minho’s shirt became soaked from Taemin’s tears but he didn’t mind too much. He just kept stroking the boy’s head and assuring him they’d be fine.
After about 20 minutes in the dark, the lights flickered back on and the elevator began to move again. Ignoring this Taemin kept his arms wrapped around Minho’s body feeling as though he could fall asleep right there and then with his neighbor holding him. Just as he’d thought it, Taemin began to lose consciousness hearing Minho’s panicked voice just before he hit the floor and was out cold.
~
‘Taemin it’s me Jinki’
‘Jinki, what do you want’
‘I want you to love me again Taemin’
‘I can’t do that Jinki’
‘Because you don’t love me’
‘I never said that’
‘You left to go after someone else. Of course you don’t love me’
‘I never said that’
‘Then what did you say?!?’
‘I never said that…..’

Taemin opened his eyes and found himself in a strange room lying in a strange bed with a wet wash cloth on his head and his shirt off. It was dark outside and the last thing he could remember was crying in the elevator.
“Where am I?” Taemin questioned as he sat up and removed the wash cloth from his head.
“You’re in my apartment” an almost naked Minho said as he walked into the room, only a towel was wrapped around his waist. “You passed out after the elevator started working. I think maybe from exhaustion and crying too much”
Taemin felt his face light on fire and he pulled the covers to his chest “Then why is my shirt off?!”
Minho started to giggle, “For the same reason the wash cloth was on your head. You were burning up so I thought removing it would help you cool down. Don’t worry,” he said getting as he got really close to Taemin to ruffle his hair, “I didn’t do anything to your body”.
Taemin pulled away and hopped off of the bed and grabbed his shirt from on top of the night stand, “Well thank you”.
Quickly Taemin made his way to the door but Minho called for him to hold on a second. Taemin turned around but kept a hand on the door knob behind his back. Minho walked up and explained “you were saying something about ‘Jinki’ in your sleep for quite some time. Is everything ok with this ‘Jinki’?”
Taemin was surprised for a second but quickly responded “don’t worry he’s just someone I used to talk to from time to time, but he’s gone now”
“Oh I’m sorry. I know what it’s like to lose a friend”
“No, no! He’s still alive! He just moved away. I’m not really sure we were friend anyway”
Taemin looked at the ground making Minho feel like he had brought up an unpleasant memory. “Well,” Minho started in an attempt to change the mood “good night then Taemin”. He placed his hand on top of the boys head, and for the first time in a long time, Taemin gave Minho a giant grin and said “Thank you. You too”.
They stayed like that for a few seconds just smiling at one another until Taemin realized what was going on and quickly left the boys apartment and went back to his own. Even out of Minho’s sight, Taemin’s cheeks still hurt from the smile on his face.
