My Sacramento Trip

May 21, 2004 18:35

I said I would update about my trip to Sacramento, so I will. At first i got on the Amtrak train there, and got seated with these two mean girls that used to be my friends. Luckily, the other REALLY mean girl that also used to be my friend, moved to Oakland some time ago. Then everybody starts to wander around everywhere on the train, even going to different cars(which your not supposed to do). I spent most of the time there trying to find my friend Evelyn who had been the one wandering about the most. The other part of the time  was looking out of the window, camra in hand, watching for things to take pictures of.

The we got there. First place we went was the capitol building. We had to wait for a while to see Ellen Corbett, our state assemblywoman, because they were in session voting, but eventually, she got out there to talk to us. She talked alot about hiw we should stay in school and about how they are working very hard on getting a good portion of the state funds to education. I got two pictures of/with her and weasled my way up to the front when she was talking. I even got her buissness card.

Then we ate lunch outside on the garden of the Capitol Building. We got mad because people were tormenting an innocent squirrel. Not much about lunch except it was beautiful on the garden. Even though people were protesting home care cuts (wheel chair people's funding etc.).

Then after lunch we walked to the California State Railroad Museum. On the way there we saw a guy on a bike about 5 feet up. It was awesome. As soon as we got to the museum, we saw a movie about the "Big Four" and how the very first transcontinentinal railroad was built. Then we toured the museum. We took many photos and got to go in four of the train cars there in the museum. It, also, was awesome.

After the museum, we went to Annebell's Pizza and Pasta resturant. It sounds fancy, but it's really not. They use foam plates, their pizza tastes like cracker with cheese, and their bathrooms stink and are barely sanitary to go in. Other than that, it was ok.

After dinner, we toured Old Sacramento. It was fun. There was a dozen of candy stores, atleast five ice cream shops, maybe ten gift shops, atleast ten resturaunts, and much more, all within walking distance from eachother. That was great. I got mint chip ice cream that had Ande's mints in it. Yum.

We had left for the train station, and I started to have to go to the bathroom, and did I mention earlier, I had to go to the bathroom atleast once every hour?

Well, we got on the train again, and I started to get up and walk around with everybody else. I nearly got in trouble. I had wanted to get a picture of something, so I run to get my camera, and take the picture, no go, it's out of film, great.

We got back and my dad picked me up from the school, and as soon as I got home, I collapsed on my bed. Hey, you would too if you had been walking all over Sacramento. ANd speaking of beds, my dad just moved my brother's bed out of my room, i have that whole room, TO MYSELF!! YAY! Well, that's it for now, bye.
