Once again a belated Wednesday

What I have read this week, despite my tentative plans, was The Hanging Tree, the latest (I think) Peter Grant book by Ben Aaronovitch. Which was very good: I like Peter's POV, and I liked the new characters and new aspects of this world's magic.

I have finished none of the books I've been reading last week so I'm still reading them, especially Noonday Demon (which continues to be thoughtful but I still know too much about the author). And I've picked up Pinker, as I planned, but am currently a bit bogged down on the part concerning the Big War which contains a lot of statistics. I am also trying to read a book in Polish, at a rate of about a page a day (it is called The Devil from the Seventh Grade, "devil" being a positive and admiring term here - the protagonist is an especially clever teenager who deducts things. Or something. I tried reading books which I already know well in translation, but this method is not for me - too boring).

I don't know what I'm going to be reading next. I truly don't. Something from the last week's list of probables. Since it's all serious nonfiction, maybe I'll add some lighter reading to my pile. We'll see.   This entry was originally posted at https://taelle.dreamwidth.org/75153.html. Please comment there using OpenID.
