I confess I find fanfic warnings stating that 'Author is no native English speaker' somewhat annoying. What's that got to do with anything? If you can write readable texts in English, do. If you can't, don't. Or find a beta.That's all there's to it.
I'm leaving today for a LARP-con in Nizhny Novgorod. I've never been there, though I doubt after three days in a hotel on the outskirts of the city I'll be able to say I've been there properly.
