Chai, Downton Abbey, and Family, Oh my!

I am home.
I never knew I would appreciate it this much, but having my college 7 hours away from home (in distance) and not getting to see my family for weeks and weeks, I have learned that I deeply delight in my time with my family. In short, Christmas Break is much appreciated. Not just appreciated, but needed. Not just needed, but LOVED. Little comforts like sleeping in the room you've grown up in and eating dinner with your family are just priceless.
Anyhow, after many long seasons of being persuaded and being busy myself with countless things in life, I've finally gotten around to watching... DOWNTON ABBEY. And all I can say is... It's fantastic. Brilliant. Lovely. Captivating. Clever. Beautiful. And only in the 5 episodes I've seen I have picked that up from the show :) I can't wait to continue getting into the series. It's just great.
I've been relaxing and I'm just excited to be back to my natural habitat. I saw my good friend, Faelariel, today! So so wonderful. I'm half-asleep as I'm writing this but I've had a good 2 days that I've been home so far.
On other notes, there's two things on my heart tonight.
One: pray for the elementary school in Newtown, CT. It is just devastating what happened- words just can't describe it. It's an event that truly shows the depravity of this world and our desperate need for a Savior. This kind of brings me to my next thing...
Two: I'm trying to constantly remind myself this season of the Advent: Christ has come. That is what Christmas is truly about. Isaiah the prophet foretold: "The people walking in darkness have seen a great light." The month of December, the Advent season (anticipation for the coming), is about waiting for the light of Christ, who is God coming in the form of a man, to enter this world. This coming of Christ is our hope as Christians, and this season is for celebrating and singing "Glory to God in the Highest, Peace to Men and Good Will on Earth", because the Messiah is truly hear. Let's not forget this as the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season get to us with buying and receiving gifts, making cookies, and blasting Christmas tunes. These things are amazing, but the true reason for the celebration is the birth of Christ on earth.
After all that, I'd like to just say this is also to remind myself and it isn't just a sermon to lecture you all. Have a splendid Christmas with your families and God Bless!
