I was driving home from work the other day and a rabbit ran out into the road in front of me. I slammed on the brakes (thank you, slow traffic) and managed to not hit it. As soon as my car stopped, a giant owl swooped down and nabbed the rabbit...and sat in the road. The owl stared at me with huge, unblinking eyes and didn't fly away. It just sat there in the street looking at me and me looking back at it. I quickly pulled out my phone and took a picture because I have never seen such a large owl, or any owl in general in the area. I know they probably are there, but I haven't seen one for years. I'm glad to know they are still around. I love owls. I think this one was a Great Horned Owl, judging by its size. The green pole to the right is a lamppost for size reference.
After about five minutes, I tried to drive AROUND the owl and then it flew up onto the roof of a house and stared down at my car as I drove away.
Of course, I immediately thought: Hogwarts Owl! You are late! XD
