Randomness and Something Corporate
So I miss Something Corporate especially since they stalled me at 19 concerts when I was oh so close to starting my tear to catch up to Neha and Rachael. Anywho I am bored and watching the Live at Ventura DVD so I thought I would compile my list of top ten SoCo moments in no particular order really.....except for Number 1 which wins for obvious reasons.
10. Andrew coming up to the balcony to sing "Hey Ya" to us in Philly. Also after that concert while talking to him outside, he gave me a real hug which caught me off guard due to him usually giving me the normal awkward male hug. Neha knows what I'm saying.
9. Andrew cutting me and Rachael a look because we were hitting each other during him playing "Me and the Moon" in CT.
8. I am bunching all of Tad in one number. (for losers Tad was the former merch guy that loved me and not Neha even though a bum in RI said they were getting married and he was going to there wedding) So here is the special Tad list. Subway together, lego necklaces, when I bought a shirt in boston and he came over and I told him I was dissappointed he wasn't selling merch and then Clutch chimed in with "you should throw the shirt on the ground and be like what the fuck is this shit", all those times tad would play body guard for the boys (he's was so tough) and I am missing a ton of other funny things but this is going on too long.
7. The Bentley show where the cops were telling them to shut the show down and Andrew saying they would have to drag him off the stage in cuffs. Clutch stage diving on me and I thanked him for it after the show because I was surrounded by 10 year old girls who didn't help hold him up and in response saying "that's why I did it I knew I could count on you to catch me" Then once the power was shut down Andrew stayed and literally signed and autograph for everyone there. Then we had the chance to party with them but didn't as we had to be up at like 5 to drive to jersey to see them at skate and surf.
6. Oswego NY, where to start things Rachael sweet talked the event coordinator kid because our tickets were at will call and we were first and line but couldn't get the tickets until inside. So he gave us two tickets so we could get up front. Also where some girl said to Andrew that she has seen them five times and she felt like a stalker or something. And with Rachael and I in clear ear shot says "thats not as bad as some people" Then driving home and having to stop at rest stops to sleep as it was a five hour drive and it was already 12 pm.
5. UMASS Amherst, after seeing them open for the terrible Good Charlotte rather than sit there and watch good charlotte I met up with Neha and met Rachael for the first time, and we went to find the guys, and we talked to andrew for a while and then brian chilled and hung out with us for like two hours and when good charlotte started playing "boys and girls" (song title? no idea) he was like "I love this song" proceeded to go into the back of the audutorium and sing and air drum along.
4. New York, where it was a wonderful four hour bus ride. While talking to andrew before the show some random jack ass interupts us to tell him her bf knows him or something fucking stupid. Chilling with Rob of Mae and their merch guy (or Jesse Lacey of Brand New and Sean William Scott) Neha knows what I'm talking about there. Then going to white castle until like 3 and then sitting in Mcdonalds until like 5 because I bus wasn't coming until like 7am and a fight breaks out. Only in NY could this happen. Also Andrew seeming really upset that night because we gave him shit about playing Konstantine.
3. This one is a bit said but oh well. RI at the WBRU thing. First off it was them yellowcar, SOTY, brand new, so it was an amazing show but the point was I am pretty sure that was one of the last times I talked to Will before he left the band and in his drunkeness all he said was "Hey man I saw you up front." And then Clutch drunk to Neha singing "Mr. Sandman bring me a Clutch" or something strange like that.
2. Seeing them for the first time live at Warped tour. This one is self explanitory. And at the time Hurricane was my favorite song and right was we got there I heard that playing and 18 shows and numerous friends later here I am.
1. While in NY I asked andrew to play Break Myself the next night in Worcester and he said they had been practicing that and to remind him in worcester. So finally finding him before the show I told him and he said they put it in there. So I was pleased I was going to hear it live. So that point in the show comes and instead of just playing it he also adds "this is for our friend of ours that asked us to play it" and I got a point from him and because of that I totally could have gotten any 12 year girl there that night but you know how the laws our these days.
Other little things involve being mean to stupid kids that act like they are huge fans, seeing that stupid fucking kid at every show that tried to be our friend at URI, Andrew constantly signing autographs then turning to see us and ignoring us with an attention of "they can wait", Rachael crush on Adam, and Dos, and Andrew, collecting five set lists including the one from the number 1 item on the list.....so on and so forth but this is really long so I am going to end it now.
