grumbly stomach
Sooo I just got back from a Judd Apatow comedy thing at UCB. They are starting to shoot his new film, about standup comedians, on Monday, so they've been doing a few shows to prepare. The lineup was Judd, Jonah Hill, Kevin James (I don't think that he's in the movie but maybe I'm wrong), a gal named Aubrey, Seth Rogen, and Adam Sandler. Adam fucking Sandler!! Yes.
So in the beginning Judd asks straight out if anyone has a movie pitch for him. i raised my hand and he gave me the microphone and I pitched my "guys who create a business where they are hired to flood interviews with shitty prospects so the guy who hired them gets the job" idea and he made some joke that it's the Dane Cook movie coming out next week. And then these two other guys pitched and they were horribile so I win! Seriously, it was pretty awesome to be able to do that. He's the nicest guy ever. We talked to him afterwards for a bit. I so badly just wanted to be like ...is there ANYTHING I can do on your movie? I don't care what the fuck it is.
More updates later but that was a pretty great night. So much comedy this week - Bruce Mcullogh at CDR, and the roast of Paul F Thompkins. I sometimes feel like the luckiest person in the world for all of this.
