Question Reality
Ok well, if you haven't noticed I have been a little weird this past two some odd days. Last night my grandfather died, it was a real 'shock to the system' and I have not shed a single tear. Now before you all start saying 'Oh thats because your emotionless, your an existentialist, blah blah blah' this really freaked the shit out of me. After I got home from my failed concert to see Saosin my mom told me, so with that I left and chain smoked and seriously thought. Which after I talked to both my parents (a rarity at that) and so far ironically enough my dad has leveled with me more then my mother. We both concluded that I am just feeling guilty that despite all my woes and sorrows that I haven't cried. I feel bad? I feel bad because I am not crying, I feel bad that no matter what fond memories that arise I have yet to shed a tear. So, there is a lot of in between stuff which does not seem legitimate to talk about but logistically I am guilty because I have a lack of emotions. There now your free to go ahead and whip out the cynicism I have made my stand.
On another note talking with my dad, me and him traded philosophy stories (mine you have probably already herd)
Lee Sode: "A scorpion and a turtle are going to cross a river, so one day as they are there the scorpion looks at it and asks the turtle 'Can I hop on your back to cross the river?' and the turtle replies 'No! if I let you, you will just sting me' but the scorpion replies 'I won't do that, for if I did we would both die' so listening to that the turtle agrees but as they cross the river the scorpion stings the turtle"
- The morale, you cannot deny your instincts.
Erik Sode: "One day a bum is walking down a alley way and he finds a brand new pair of shoes. Thrilled by this he puts them on and proudly walks around. So one day as he is walking by the train track he falls and lands on the tracks, then he hears a train coming so quickly he looks on the tracks to see if he is on them. As he looks all he sees are a pair of legs with new shoes on, seeing as how these could not be his legs he relaxes and the train comes and runs over his legs"
- The point, its for you to interpret but essentially its that no matter what you have its meaningless in the end, or something to that extent.
