What I must do is all that concerns me, not what people think. It is easy in the world to live after the world's opinion; it is easy in solitude to live after our own; but the great man is he who in the midst of the crowd keeps with perfect sweetness the independence of solitude.

So here I am in Dallas. I've survived the flight, the check in, and the first day of training. I'm full on great sushi and sake. The new hires are a great bunch and although I was (and still am to a degree) nervous of the "Texan way" things here are not too shabby. Unfortunatly the only thing I see on the local news is shootings which confirmed my original impressions of the state. Today I drove on the President George Bush Freeway and I had to fight the urge to stop and crap in the breakdown lane.
