"Fairytales, Come To Life"
Superwho: 11th Doctor/Amy, Chuck/Sam;Two people who fell for the man from their stories.
“He wasn’t so much a fairytale,” Chuck said, drumming his fingers against the sidewalk as he sat with the lovely redhead he’d just met, “as… the hero of my horror story.”
“Oh, you love ‘im, don’t you,” Amy said, smiling softly. “Tell me everything about him.”
“Well you read the books, you already know his story. Honestly, I can’t think of anything else you’d want to know.” Chuck shrugged, and Amy sighed.
“Oh, come on,” Amy said, her lips curled tightly in a smile and her eyes full of amusement and mischief. “I wanna hear about your boyfriiiiiiend,” she exaggerates the words, taunting with that amused tone that only a girl can pull off.
“Alright, alright,” Chuck said, sighing. “Sam Winchester is…” But he hadn’t a clue where to start.
Luckily, Amy jumped in with her questions. “Is he cute?”
It’s typical of her, from what Chuck knows already, he thinks, and he grins. “He’s very…” he let his voice trail off, searching for an appropriate word. “…attractive.”
“I bet,” Amy sighed happily. “Well? What else?”
“Well, I think he’s perfect for me. He’s just got such an exciting life, you know, and now I get to be a part of that. And it’s great, sometimes. Things were so boring before I met him.” Chuck was running his fingers through the loose gravel that had gathered on the side of the road. “It’s awesome. Just really, really awesome.”
“So how’d you two get together?” Amy asked, leaning forward with her elbows on her knees.
“Well,” Chuck started. He wasn’t quite sure what to tell her, so he repeated what he’d told Sam. “I told him that I was completely and utterly obsessed with him since basically the first vision.”
“Oh that’s so sweet!” Amy gushed, clapping her hands together and wringing them restlessly, a small smile resting on her lips. “And he said?”
“He told me that if he were going to fall in love with anyway, it would be me, because I already knew everything about him and he would never have to keep a secret from me.” Chuck shrugged again, unable to keep the grin off his lips.
Amy smiled again, but it was a sad smile- it was clear as day as she absent-mindedly scratched her ankle under her sock. “You’re lucky he loves you back.”
And yeah, Chuck thought, he really was. “Well that’s enough about me,” he said, though, and Amy raised a brow, urging Chuck to continue. “Tell me about your Doctor.”
“Oh,” Amy said, grinning, clapping her hands together once again and cracking her fingers. “He’s exactly my fairytale. A handsome man in a magic box, traveling the galaxies and saving lives. He’s perfect. Beautiful.”
“And you’re in love with him.”
“Completely,” Amy sighed, “but how could I not be? It’s got to be impossible notGod, Chuck, I’m pathetic. I’m getting married! What’s wrong with me? I mean, I love the guy, I do, but no one will ever compare with the Doctor, you know?”
“That’s hard,” Chuck muttered, and it was, sadly, all he could offer. “Would you really choose the Doctor over your fiancée?”
“In an instant,” Amy replied, without hesitation, and she groaned. “Thing is, though, he’ll never love me, not like I loved him. “She paused, thinking. “Let me rephrase that- he does love me, with all his two hearts, but it’s completely, a hundred percent platonic. Drives me insane.”
Chuck nods, and they sigh, both staring off into the sky.
“You know,” Amy said a smile in her voice again. “Looks like we both got whisked away into something huge by the men from our stories.”
Chuck grinned. “Looks like we did.”
