i have sooooo much homework to do tonight... but i cannot keep myself away from the force of nature that is mtv.
there is a transsexual who wants to get plastic surgery to look like jennifer lopez, and i can't find any strength to pry myself away from the television.

on a serious note, my grandfather was taken to the emergency room this evening and i dropped everything to go be by my grandma's side. the thought of her being there alone, worried, and possibly bored was all i needed to get my butt to the hospital. he will probably be admitted tonight and the sad thing is that tomorrow (tuesday the 13th) is my grandfather's birthday. :(
there were SOOOO MANY freaks, trash, and gangsters in the er waiting room. i only walked through it and i wanted to vomit. half of the people were drunk, one quarter looked semi-normal, and the other quarter of people was on the verge of stabbing the drunks with a pencil.
my favorite drunken outburst... (said by trashy drunk man in 7-11 hat and budweiser t-shirt to semi-refined looking older woman who did not know the man) "I'M GOING TO ASK YOU ONE MORE TIME...WHERE THE FUCK IS MY WIFE???? (to the entire waiting room) she got off work at 6, she should be here right now. don't you guys know where she is?!?!"
yes, it was...an experience.
i feel like a medical snob because i have never experienced such a thing before. even when i couldn't walk because of my recent foot injury, i went to an orthopedic foot and ankle specialist where all the other patients were wearing suits and reading the wall street journal. all i can say is i guess i should be thankful for my parent's private health insurance. thank goodness!
