The Little Prince
I'm not sure how to class this book, its targeted for children much like a fairy tale, yet it is profound and thought provoking and very much meant for adults. It's like a thousand aesop's fables yet looked at as a whole its an amazing articulate work... i wish i known this book in year 12.. Ms Kaye would love it.
here's the link.. it was written by a man who went missing during WW2 and was just discovered at the bottom of the ocean last year. There have been so many references to it in Sherrilyn Kenyon's books and then when i heard the French musical version of it, i fell in love with it. yippeness for me... its online with the original illustrations.
