Those of you who knew me from the Red Wiki may have seen this already; please forgive me. Since I can no longer get in to either wiki, I'm reposting this here.
( Edit: Changed text color. The green was unreadable on my blue backdrop. Also added the To-Do list. What the heck, I was in here.)

No, but maybe that's because I was already doing something scarier.
Kitty Hawk Kites, on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, teaches beginning hang-gliding in the safest place I can imagine: the soft, sloping surface of sand dunes almost perfectly matched to the glide slope of a hand glider. My feet were probably never more than 10 feet or so above the soft sand.
Even my kayaking buddy, who was nervous about climbing the stairs to the school's observation deck, felt secure in the sling-seat of the glider.
I've known a policeman who's been shot at... and is terrified of whitewater. My kayak buddy has paddled rapids that scare me... but he's afraid of heights.
I'm sure that taking hang-gliding to a more serious level would be scary. We have a club in CT who launch from cliffs, ride the ridge lift, and sometime ride thermals up thousands of feet. And sometimes, they die.
Knowing that up and down-drafts are invisible, is something that keeps me from pursuing serious hang-gliding, but having a taste of it was nice, especially there, knowing that the Wright Brothers first flew at Kitty Hawk.

Speaking of EEK (but also amazing to watch): I recently saw a video of people testing out "wing suits". You probably already know about such things, but I was amazed by it. I just went and found it again: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5N9t5qOSzCU
