So I finally got to see Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix over the weekend. One of the aspects of the book the movie really focused on was Harry teaching the other students spells to help them defend against the dark arts - and the one they seemed to drill the most on was Expelliarmus, which knocks a wizard's wand out of their hand with great force. This was the meat and potatoes of most of their exercises, and they even had a special statue they spent a lot of time trying to disarm.
So if this spell is so common, why in all the hundreds of years of organized wizarding history, has no one invented wii-straps for their wands?
Heck, do this with 'em:
Expelliarmus would be out of style in three seconds flat.
