The break was good. Too short.
I got to do a lot of laundry and house cleaning. I actually like that stuff. I didn't get to help cook supper on Thursday because they started early while I still sleeping/showering/getting ready. It was a little bit somber, being the first big holiday without Granny, but everyone seemed to do alright. Poppaw had the hardest time, although he tried so hard not to show it. He just griped more and was a little harsh without realizing it. But Thanksgiving dinner was good. The two hour nap afterward was even better. My favorite part of the holidays is all the extra sleep I get.
On Saturday morning, right after I woke up, I walked over to the wall to plug my cell phone into its charger. Crouching down to pick up the charger off the ground, I lost my balance and reached a hand down to the floor to catch myself and landed right on a hot hair straightener. My cousin had left it on all night, camoflaged in a pile of clothes where I couldn't see it. So, the huge blister forming on my thumb is especially pleasant. I'm just glad the house didn't burn down while I was sleeping.
Also, immediately after getting back to school tonight, I got an email from my professor saying that my one class for tomorrow will be cancelled. Something she could have told us YESTERDAY! Or even this morning! I could have stayed home one more night. Pout.
Ah well. Two weeks and one day until Christmas break. One skills check off and two finals. I'm 5/8 done with nursing school already!
