Mortal Gods and their Foolish Men

I just don't understand what all the fuss is about. Everyone acts like dying is something to be avoided at all costs. I say you should consider yourselves lucky to even have the option!

[Huff. Somebody's jealous]

Sheesh, the nerve of some people. I bet you'd complain, even if we gave you whatever you wanted!

After all, it isn't as if the Captain's not generous enough to bring you back, and besides isn't it true that you all agreed that you'd rather be mortal than otherwise, at least according to the archives?! I mean, really do you have to be so contradictory all the time?

Well, what I think is that death is one of the most important aspects of life! Without dying, you just continue on, and even things that once were incredibly important to you fade into obsolescence. This isn't to say that that process isn't worthwhile, after all it's considered a mental illness for childhood goals and games to persist into adulthood, but don't you think it's still a bit much to live a life where everything you do is eventually destined to be cast aside in a continual, eternal growth from childhood? It makes even the most important things ultimately trivial!

What's the most important thing in your life right now? As an exercise, imagine that one day you would come to find that thing as irrelevant and worthless as a game you played as a young child.

Now stop complaining, after all not everyone has your luxuries. There are people with much greater misfortunes than yours in every city and every country in the world. You're spoiled rotten, and if you never learn to accept that fact, you'll never improve.

Remember, admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery!
