In other news, we finally found (rather, agreed upon and threw money at) a goddamn house. We've viewed about fifteen properties over a total of about a week; this accounts for quite literally every five-bedroom property available to rent in the Harrow/Kenton area. We've visited almost every single estate agent in Harrow and Kenton, and many in Wembley and Ruislip. I've learnt more than I ever wanted to know (and more than most estate agents seem to know) about Houses in Multiple Occupation. But we now definitively have somewhere to live next year, and that makes it all worthwhile. It's pretty much the best property we viewed in all respects, and considering the effort we put into the search it bloody well deserves to be.
I fully expect to be fielding half-hearted calls from estate agents offering me three-bedroom properties in Hendon until November.
