Went out to the new 'Goth / Metal / Rock' night at a
club in Southampton at the end of April, which was fairly average - would have been too pricey if I'd not had a student card. Ended up just missing out on / narrowly avoiding a one-night stand which seemed unfortunate at the time (especialy since everybody around me was doing so well), but with the benefit of hindsight I've decided it's about time I started setting some proper standards for myself. Not that there was anything vastly wrong with this person, but I think by now I've proven to myself I can do better than somebody with whom the only common interest is willingness.
Had a really nice quiet evening out and chat with Jules tonight, which I haven't had chance to do in a while. It's always good to be reminded of who my real friends are. Definitely looking forward to spending more time with both her and
gothicfreakgrrl at some point soon.
I did realise however, that having read
three whole books on
peak oil since my
last post on it, there is really no way to broach the subject without sounding like a complete tinfoil nutjob. 'Everything is going to hell in the next 15 years' doesnt' sound rational however you slice it. Especially if you try to explain how the problem is made worse by the government
not fully understanding the extent of the problem or that there was a fairly recent
gas crisis that never made it into the news. Yea, in brief I still don't really know how worried I should be but I am indeed worried.
But, enjoying myself in the meantime. This music is nice. Yes.
