Bu-bye Comcast

Oct 01, 2010 20:34

I've had Comcast cable internet for eight or so years now. Signed up when it was still @Home (before Comcast bought it), and have carried the service with me through a half-dozen moves. In all this time the service never really got any better, and the monthly subscription price kept slowly increasing.

Well, no longer.

I just signed with Frontier for FiOS (Fiber Optic Service) internet, which will be installed October 8th. I'm going with the basic service, which is 15Mbps downloading and 5Mbps uploading. I am greatly amused as this is approximately fives times faster, downloading, than my Comcast service, and about fifteen time faster (!!!) uploading... and is costing me $0.04 more a month. I think at this point the only thing I'm really wondering is, "What the f**k took me so long?!?"

In other news, vacation starts in 7 days.

vacation, bills
