Woah, I didn't realize Tai Chi had grappling in it. I think that if it excites you, try it at least for a bit. :) And definitely be careful along the way XD

Jujitsu is extremely safe if you are being supervised by a qualified instructor. I learned quite a lot about it because my Judo partner was a green belt in Jujitsu - there are a lot of similarities, except Jujitsu concentrates very specifically on the holds and submissions that are only a small part of Judo.

I think Jujitsu is a much safer than other martial arts such as karate or kung fu, because as an international SPORT it specifically teaches you techniques for submission without injuring the other party (as opposed to kung fu, where a lot of moves' are designed to kill or maim the other party, making it tricky for novices to spar). Anyway, I found grappling a FANTASTIC way to relieve stress, there's nothing quite like getting down and dirty on a mat matching wills, balance, and strength trying to subdue another person. :) It's a lot of fun and I highly recommend it.

You should definitely do it. Tai Chi was a really interesting experience, for the classes I was actually able to get up for.
