Missed opportunities
I don't usually follow every season of Idol (Aus or US) that closely. I usually watch the auditions and then go in and out until the end. I'm usually too over it by then to care who won.
However, I have been following this season of American Idol and was hoping that Krystal (Crystal?) would win. She is talented, but she's also living with type 1 diabetes. She would have been a great role model for kids like my daughter (currently nearly 10), showing that you don't have to miss out on living your dreams because of it. Sadly, she came second (or happily, because second is awsome and often do better than the winners!). I really hope she does as well (or better) than Kelly Clarkson. I'd like to take the kids to see her concert some day.
