OK, OK, so I fell off the Clovember wagon. BUT, in my defence, I have been *insanely* busy, what with caring for two children, looking at real estate, writing two training programs, memorising speeches for today's Toastmasters area finals (of which I actually won the Humorous Speech Contest, and thereby qualify for the district finals, although these may well CLASH with my March trip to Europe, which I'm also trying to organise), writing still more phonetic spellings of names for graduation ceremonies and actual WORK two days a week and running training between those two days and AAAAAARGH.
I still took some clo photos, though. I just didn't get around to posting them. Here, have some now:
More work clo! I decided a couple of years ago that I am *elderly* and should really own some proper grown-up professional woman shoes. So I looked at pumps, trying to find some that somehow evaded the slip-off problem of previous mention that I have with slip-on shoes. And Wittner had some that miraculously seemed to stay on my feet on drastic sale, and they were SUEDE, and they came not only in Practical Black but Siren Red, and... so OK, I bought both (as I now recall reporting in my 2013 Clovember exploits, no less!). Alas, clearly I am not as grown-up and professional as all that, because until very recently I had not worn either pair even ONCE, because when I'm being all professional I'm usually running a training program, which usually means being on my feet for 4-7 hours (and pacing and prancing about, as I'm a very energetic presenter), and I had visions of collapsing in front of a PowerPoint slide in an agony of blood and blisters. However! Now that I am gainfully employed in a non-training program capacity two days a week, I feel the time has come to get them out and break them in at last. I ended up chickening out of wearing these red suede heels that morning, but I regretted it. This week, I say!
Then there's the flared green skirt of earlier appearance, styled here for evening:
The evening occasion in question was the end-of-year party for the writing course staff and students (past and present) a couple of weeks ago. For whatever reason, I've been to this pretty much every year, and every year I figure I might as well dress up a bit (because God knows I'm barely going out at night at *all* these days, and while this is fine by me, I do regret the lack of opportunities for dressing up for evening entertainments). If you look closely, you may see that I even put on some minimal make-up! A truly rare event. And this rather striking necklace, of course:
After years of barely wearing necklaces, I have suddenly embraced them, led by the glory that is Cheap Yet Interesting Jewellery On The Internet. Not that this one was bought online - I actually bought this as a chain store called Rockmans in my local shopping centre for $12. Rather pretty, I thought.
