I try to do what's best for my kids. I don't always succeed but I try. Monica and I don't own a TV, we make the kids earn computer time and it's always supervised and I try to get them to use their imagination and play creatively. I'm strict on a lot of things because I feel I often have to counter balance their time at their mom's.
My ex and I get along very well and I admire the work she puts into being a mom. But, she has a TV and it's ALWAYS on. There is another TV in the kids room connected to two different game systems. We don't let them have sugar here. If they get anything sweet, its fruit or honey. When their mom shows up here to drop them off, they usually have a bag full of fast food and a cup full of soda with them. Last time she even brought a bag of cotton candy. I've tried to explain to her what crappy nutrition is doing to the kids but if she won't listen to the pediatrician, there's no way she'll listen to me.
