My car is definitely having problems with 3rd gear, if I had to guess I'd say it's the 3rd gear clutch pack (actually I have no idea, but that's the known issue). My car is now 9,000 miles over the extended warranty, which means the dealer prolly won't want to cover it, but I think the repair is $4,500, which is probably close to half the value of my car right now, so it seems a little ridiculous...
what's fucking annoying though is I brought the car to the dealer at 90,000 miles and they didn't say anything was wrong with clutch pack, so I'm guessing they just charge for the inspection and don't actually inspect anything. There's no point to this update, other than to bitch about the fact that I know the dealer is going to try and ass-rape me, and honda/acura piss me off. They're like the verizon of cars.
Luckily I have sport shift, so on the freeway I can just stay in 4th gear (when traffic speeds up and slows down on hills (405) my car can't decide between 3rd and 4th, which causes it to spazz the fuck out when combined with tranny failure), but it's a pain in the ass to drive around town while trying to avoid 3rd gear. my gas milage is going to go to hell really quick...
