Just three words is all Daniel would say, over and over again sometimes in whispers you'd strain to hear even inches away, other times he'd shout them for those on the surface to search for the source. When questioned as to why he kept saying it he only stares blankly as if he hadn't heard anything at all. They all felt lucky he had chosen to repeat the words in a language easily translated and not an ancient or dead language that speakers and under standers of them are few and far between.
Regarder la lumiere, Sam stares at the notepad until the words start to swim around and her eyes burn. To look at the light. Could that be sun? Or perhaps Son? Or perhaps a cheap $5 desk lamp bought at a discount store on clearance? She laughs at that last "brilliant" idea and looks around to find someone to share it with; finding nobody. Okay back to regarder la lumiere and helping Daniel.
Vala at first didn't know what to do for him and drives everyone insane with her suggestions on ways to help. The Promaista planet and it's five hundred year old cheese she was told would cure everything from unwanted pimples to correcting whatever Daniel had; smelt so foul the infirmary had to be evacuated for several hours. After that instance it takes quite a bit of convincing, begging and bit of whining to get Landry to order Dr. Lam to allow her back in. This time she pulls up a chair takes a hold of his hand and counts the number of times he says the phrase; she drifts off to sleep at twenty eight.
"Regarder la lumiere." "Regarder la lumiere." "REGARDER LA LUMIERE!" Daniel struggles against the resistance holding him down; put there after two nights ago when he tried to punch an opening through the wall - not seeming to notice the wide open and unblocked door.
"Daniel, snap out of it!" Cam rushes in pushing him down with violence and holding him down even as Daniel fights against him. "Hey guys I need some help now! I think he's getting worse. No I'm convinced of it!" That part is discovered after the sensation of teeth biting into his arm rushes through him. And than just that Daniel stops and lays back down and returns to the muttering of the words.
